Mr Bean - Found a treasure

mr. bean

Mr. Bean is often a British sitcom created by Rowan Atkinson and Richard Curtis, and starring Atkinson within the title role. Atkinson co-wrote all fifteen episodes with either Curtis, Robin Driscoll, or both, with Ben Elton co-writing the pilot. Thirteen with the episodes were broadcast on ITV, in the pilot on 1 January 1990, until "Goodnight Mr. Bean" on 31 October 1995. A clip show, "The Best Items of Mr. Bean", was broadcast on 15 December 1995, and something episode, "Hair by Mr. Bean of London", was not broadcast until 2006 on Nickelodeon.

Using a character originally developed by Atkinson while he was studying for his master's degree at Oxford University, the series follows the exploits of Mr. Bean, explained Atkinson as "a child inside a grown man's body", in solving various problems presented by everyday tasks and quite often causing disruption along the way. Bean rarely speaks, as well as the largely physical humour in the series hails from his interactions with other people and his unusual solutions to situations. The series was relying on physical performers for example Jacques Tati and comic actors from silent films.

During its five-year run, the series gained large UK audience figures, including 18.74 million for that 1991 episode "The Downside to Mr. Bean". The series has brought a number of international awards, such as Rose d'Or. The show has been purchased in 245 territories worldwide and it has inspired an animated cartoon spin-off, two films, as well as an appearance with the London 2012 Summer Olympics opening ceremony.
